Starling Independent Bar Café Kitchen

A true indie venue and event space in the town centre. Whatever the time of day or night, this Harrogate café bar has a combination of food, drink and vibes to make any group or event feel at home.

There are 3 distinct event spaces in this characterful heritage Harrogate building. The Barn oozes cosy character with solid beams and Juliet balcony doors out overlooking the nest. The Beer Hall is the perfect party space, and the nest is a unique outside garden space with a plant wall on one side and 12 m sq mural by a local artist on the other.

From the moment the doors open at 0900, brunch reigns supreme. Starling delights visitors with an offer to suit the event – from a continental style offering of granola and pastries through to full cooked brekkie blowouts or the house signature three-egg slider (eggs benedict, florentine and royale).

Specialist coffee from Yorkshire roastery Dark Woods is made to order by our skilled baristas – no old jugs of stewed instant here! Loose-leaf tea enthusiasts can get stuck into a selection from Manchester's Brew Tea Company.

Into the evening the bar-like energy ramps up as 16 draft beers and ciders from independent Northern breweries, fuel evening frolics. Our legendary posh pizza buffet is perfect for groups of any size, with veggies, vegans or coeliacs catered for no problem. Our hand-stretched Neapolitan pizzas are made on site from dough to oven.

Our outside courtyard area “The Nest” opens up from the rear of our building. It is an absolute sun trap, making it a lovely relaxing place to spend a sunny afternoon. What’s better, its 100% dog friendly! With dog treats and water bowls available at the bar to keep your four legged friends happy and hydrated.

The Nest is also fully equipped with outdoor heaters for those slightly chillier evenings, and festival lighting and take 20 seated or 30 standing.

Our spaces have proven their versatility time and time again: Suitable for any informal gathering, event or party up to 50.  We regularly host birthday parties, charity fundraisers, comedy nights, whisky tastings, informal wedding do’s, corporate away days/nights.  Starling has also been a partner hub for larger town wide events eg, UCI World Championships 2019, cycling club ride out hub.  We also have a unique outside garden space with huge mural and plant wall, seating for up to 25 and bike racking.
